The Boardroom Simulation — three teams competing within one industry
3
Market share of the industry
How the share is computed. Each team's competitive index is
(innovation × 2) + (priceFactor × 10) + (mktFactor × 20), where
priceFactor = highestPrice ÷ yourPrice and
mktFactor = yourMarketing ÷ totalMarketing. A team's share is its index
divided by the sum of all indices. Units = share × total market demand; revenue = units × price.
Marketing (×20) is the strongest lever, then price (×10), then innovation (×2).
Innovation gates price. Each innovation level only supports a band of prices, so a
team's price slider is limited to what its innovation can command:
IL 1–2 → $89–$299, 3–4 → $199–$599,
5–6 → $399–$999, 7–8 → $599–$1,299,
9–10 → $799–$1,499. Lowering innovation below the price's band snaps the price
down to the highest the new level supports.
